{"id":3241,"date":"2023-04-11T20:45:00","date_gmt":"2023-04-11T18:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.versebyversebible.cz\/?p=3241"},"modified":"2024-04-23T20:48:11","modified_gmt":"2024-04-23T18:48:11","slug":"davejte-si-pozor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/versebyversebible.hiseo.cz\/en\/biblical_studies\/davejte-si-pozor\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Like \"Amen, amen,\" \"Beware\" leads us to take heed: when Jesus emphasizes and states what he says in this way, it is more than reasonable to take his warning seriously.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>It's like a teacher banging on the chair and raising his voice: Now it's going to be important, now pay attention.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Matthew 6:1: \"Take heed that you do not show your righteousness before men, lest you have a reward with your Father who is in heaven.\"<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>God hates ostentation. Rather than doing something good ostentatiously, it is better not to do it at all. Not only do we automatically \"reduce\" our reward in heaven, but we provoke God directly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Matthew 16:6: Jesus said to them, \"Take heed, and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.\"<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>By the leaven of the Pharisees is meant the tendency to hypocrisy. It is enough to let even a trace of it into the mind, and everything around it is devalued. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Matthew 18:10: \"Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven are always beholding the face of my Father who is in heaven.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Not to underestimate children, not to despise them is very important. Even the reasoning is interesting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Matthew 24:4: Jesus answered and said to them, \"Take heed lest anyone deceive you.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mk 13:5: Jesus began to say to them: \"Beware lest anyone deceive you.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You need to be careful with yourself. We're not paranoid when we think someone's after us. We're not indifferent to the devil trying to get us.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mk 8:15: And he charged them, saying, \"Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.\"<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The lifestyle or hypocritical mindset of the Pharisees is tempting but very dangerous<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mk 13:33: Take heed, watch and pray, for you do not know when the appointed time is.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You need to be prepared permanently<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Luke 21:8: He said, \"Take heed lest you be deceived. For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am,' and 'the time has come.' Do not go after them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The range of false Messiahs is wide. It's something to be reckoned with<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Galatians 5:15: But if you bite and devour one another, take heed that you are not consumed by one another.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Disputes in the Church may not end innocently, the consequences can be fatal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Col 2:8: Beware lest anyone take you captive through philosophy, an empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Philosophical reasoning without regard to God is of no use. It will get you nowhere. It is empty and a deception - it leads away from Christ. It is pseudo-wisdom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2J 1:8: Take heed that ye lose not that which we have laboured for, but that ye receive the full reward.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>That can happen too - that can happen to a Christian too: he works hard and then gets no benefit or reward. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>'amen, amen'<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Nu 5:22: Let this water of the curse penetrate into thy bowels, that thy womb may swell, and thy loins may sink. And the woman shall say: Amen, Amen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is God's test. The testee must identify with the test<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Neh 8:6: And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God, and all the people answered: And he lifted up his hands, and kneeled down, and worshipped the LORD with his face to the ground.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The people completely agreed with what Ezra said.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 1:51: And he said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be absolutely certain that a new era is beginning. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>John 3:3: Jesus answered him, \"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. \"<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The new birth is an unquestionable condition for entering the kingdom of God<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 3:11: Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that which we know, and testify of that which we have seen; and ye receive not our testimony.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We are indeed eyewitnesses - yet you don't take us seriously<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 5:19: Jesus answered them, \"Truly, truly, I say to you: The Son can do nothing of himself except what he sees the Father doing. What he does, the Son also does.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I can do absolutely nothing without the Father. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 5:24: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 6:47: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This is how it really is - faith brings eternal life. This statement cannot be given enough attention. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 5:25: Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Jesus' work somehow included the already deceased<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 6:26: Jesus answered them, \"Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is a sigh and a disillusionment - your interest in me is really only due to the miracles I have performed. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 6:32: Jesus said to them: \"Amen, amen, I say to you, it is not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be assured that the source of your provision has always been God<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 6:53: Then Jesus said to them: \"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is the importance of believing in Christ and secondarily the importance of the Lord's Supper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 8:34: Jesus answered them, \"Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To commit sin is to be in bondage to it. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 8:58: Jesus said to them: \"Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.\"<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I was indeed present at the beginning of creation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>John 10:1: \"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but enters in from another place, is a thief and a robber.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 10:7: Then Jesus said again: \"Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door for the sheep.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Jesus is the only access to God<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 12:24: Amen, amen, I say to you: Unless the grain of wheat which has fallen into the ground dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it yields much benefit.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can't get anything good out of your life without giving up yourself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 13:16: Truly, truly, I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor an apostle greater than he who sent him.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The hierarchy really needs to be respected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 13:20: Truly, truly, I say to you, he who receives whom I send receives me. And he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.\"<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gospel preachers stand in the place of Christ. And Christ is in the place of God.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 13:21: And when Jesus had said this, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, Verily, verily, I say unto you, One of you shall betray me. \"<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The betrayal of Jesus \"took\"<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 13:38: Jesus answered, \"Will you lay down your soul for me? Amen, amen, I say to you: Before the cock crows, thou shalt deny me thrice. \"<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Don't be so sure of yourself!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 14:12: Amen, amen, I say to you: He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do: for I go to the Father.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rest assured that my followers will also have supernatural powers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 16:20: Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye shall weep and mourn, but the world shall rejoice: ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The contrast between how you will perceive my death and how the world will perceive it will be great. But in the end, everything will turn out for the best.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jn 16:23: In that hour you will not ask me anything.
