World

Mt 4:8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." nd their glory. 9 And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.”

Lk 4:5 And the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time,

  • it is therefore quite certain that the kingdoms of the world and their glory belong to the devil, and that he freely disposes of them. He offers them to whom he will, and to the extent that he will.1.
  • when we are successful, it is advisable to be cautious

Mt 5:14 "You are the ligh in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.". A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.

  • Christians do not belong in the world, their home is no longer here, but they have a role, or rather a series of roles
  • one of them is to be a light, a lighthouse for the people of the world

Mt 13:38 38The field is the world, and the good seed is the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one,

  • In this parable, the world is the setting into which the Word of God is brought. People who become Christians are the good seed, those who remain in the world and thus serve the Evil One are the weeds.

Mt 16:26 For what does it profit a man if he gets the whole the world, but will he harm his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

  • nothing that is available in this world, not even the world itself, has lasting value; it is not worth losing eternal life for

Matthew 18:7 Woe to the world for the seduction! The seductions must come, but woe to the man through whom the seduction comes!

  • the world is characterized, among other things, by the fact that it is for believers by2that is to say, it has the power to entice the Christian to return to the world, in other words, to cease walking in the Spirit and begin again to walk in the flesh. From this point of view, the church is "under pressure" in the world, Christians must "defend and protect" themselves from the world. Unlike the holiness of God, which is offensive, the holiness of Christians is more defensive3
  • notwithstanding these general considerations But the main thing is that we should be careful ourselves - being the one who seduces other Christians is extremely risky. Coming under God's "woe" is something to be avoided at all costs.

Mt 24:14 This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all world as a witness to all nations. And then the end will come.

  • it is necessary to get the word out to the world about the coming kingdom of God. All people are to know about it.

Mt 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not from the beginning. in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." until now, and never will again.

  • The world has experienced various seasons since creation, tribulations are a normal part of it. Towards the end of history, the tribulation will be particularly severe, unprecedented.

Mt 25:34 Then the King will say to those on his right hand, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, receive into your inheritance the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.".

  • God's plan is not an improvisation, it has been in place from the beginning of creation, including a dwelling place for believers

Mk 16:15 And he said to them, "Go into all in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." and proclaim the gospel to all creation.

  • Christianity is a missionary religion. Our mission is to inform the world of the good news of Jesus Christ

Luke 11:50 that the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world, might be required from this generation in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.",

  • the world has been from the beginning, or rather from the fall, a hostile place towards God and the people who serve Him

Lk 12:30 All these things are eagerly sought by the nations of this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.". Your Father knows you need it..

  • this (procuring the means of life) is what they are dedicated to, it is a priority for non-believers

Lk 21:26 People will faint with fear and anticipation of what is coming upon all the world, for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

  • as the coming of Jesus draws near, the situation in the world will become more and more dire

Jn 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming to him, and said: "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away sin. in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.".

  • the world is sinful. God didn't leave the world in this and sent a solution, he sent the Lamb

Jn 3:16 "For God so loves the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  • probably the most famous verse in the Bible. Though the world lies in evil, God loves it. Even to the point of sending his Son

Jn 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to the world, condemned, but to be the world, saved through him.

  • The condemnation of the world is entirely appropriate and will happen one day. But that was not Jesus' mission - it was to save the world

Jn 3:19 This is the judgment, that the light is come upon the world, but men loved the darkness more than the light, because their deeds were evil.

  • People don't like Jesus' mission - it makes them uncomfortable, convicts them and they don't want to change anything

Jn 1:9 There was a true light that enlightens every man, that came upon the world,. :10 On world was, the world, through him, and the world, he didn't know him.

  • it talks about the relationship between Jesus and the world. Jesus initiated creation and was present at creation. Yet after his coming he was not recognized - the world degenerated after the fall and was unable to recognize its creator. Jesus came to bring light back into this darkness of the world after the fall.

Jn 4:42 And they said to the woman, "Now we believe, not because of what you said, but because we have heard it ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Savior in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.", Christ.

  • Jesus is the true savior of the world. Without Him, the world would be lost and without hope.

Jn 6:14 When the people saw the sign that Jesus did, they said, "This is indeed the Prophet who is to come to the world,."

  • people were expecting a great prophet, expecting something significant to happen

Jn 6:33 For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life. to the world.

Jn 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live for eternity. And the bread that I will give for life in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world."is my body.

  • Jesus came down from heaven to give life to the world. Whoever is spiritually hungry will be fed and saved

Jn 7:7 You cannot the world, But he hates me, because I testify of him that his deeds are evil.

  • only in the presence of good does evil emerge in clear contours. Jesus, by his life, convicted the world of sin - and that is worthy of hatred

Jn 8:12 Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.". He who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

  • the world is in darkness, Jesus brought light

Jn 8:23 And he said to them, "You are from below, I am from above. You are from this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world."I'm not from this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.".

  • Jesus was in some ways an "alien." He lived in the world, but he didn't fall into it

Jn 8:26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true, and I speak in world what I heard from him."

  • the information that Jesus brought into this world comes from God. He does not bring us his opinions, but God's

Jn 9:39 And Jesus said: "I have come to this the world, to judgment, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind."

  • Jesus did not come at His first coming to condemn the world for what it is, but to save it. But his very presence unmasked the presence of sin in the world, revealing

Jn 10:36 why me, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent to the world, you say, 'You blaspheme,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?

  • why do you consider the truth to be blasphemy? I really came from God, I really am the Son of God - so there is no blasphemy

Jn 11:9 Jesus answered, "Does not the day have twelve hours? He who walks in the day does not stumble, because he sees the light of this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.".

  • meaning our natural light of the sun

Jn 11:27 She said to him, "Yes, Lord, I have believed that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come to the world,."

  • it was said beforehand that God's anointed Savior would come into the world. The woman believed it was Jesus

Jn 12:19 The Pharisees said to themselves, "You see that you can do nothing. Behold, the whole the world, he's coming after him!"

  • meaning all the people around

Jn 12:25 He that loveth his soul destroyeth it: he that hateth his soul in this worldwill preserve her to eternal life.

  • in this life here you need to not cling to your life. If necessary, it must be given up in favour of eternal life.

Jn 12:31 Now the judgment is upon this the world, will now be the ruler of this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." thrown out.

  • the world doesn't get away with his "behavior", he will be called to account. The wickedness of the world was publicly exposed by the death of Christ; by His death, Jesus exposed and condemned the wickedness of the world. And in doing so, he also defeated the devil

Jn 13:1 Before the feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that his hour had come to depart from this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." went to the Father because he loved his own who were in world, loved them to the end.

  • Jesus' mission was coming to an end. He was about to return home.
  • During his stay, he fell in love with the people and did his best to save them. He established relationships with them that were to endure

Jn 14:17 The Spirit of truth, which the world, he can't accept it because he doesn't see it or know it. You know him, for he abides with you and will be in you.

  • The Holy Spirit is something totally incomprehensible and alien to this world. For Christians, it is a living experience because the Holy Spirit "lives" in Christians.

Jn 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as he giveth the world,I'm giving you. Let not your heart tremble and be not afraid.

  • peace in the heart is what the world really can't give. For example, true peace from fear

Jn 14:30 I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.". He has nothing against me.

  • again it is emphasized that the devil is the master of the world. Jesus will soon be silenced. The problem is, he has no right to do so.

John 14:31 But the world, is to know that I love the Father and do as the Father has commanded me. Get up, let's get out of here!"

  • the world is to know that Jesus really does what the Father commands. That it is possible, that it is possible convicts the world of sin.
  • the best motive for obeying God is love for Him

Jn 15:18 "If you the world, 19 If ye were of the in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.", the world, would love what's his. But that you are not of in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world."but I took you from in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." chose you, which is why the world, hates.

  • the world hated Jesus and now hates his followers. Because they do not belong to it, they seem alien and make it nervous (convict) by their presence. If the world resented Jesus, it cannot but expect to resent His "people"
  • six occurrences in two verses. For the revelation of the principles of the relationship between the world and Christians, one of the significant places

Jn 16:8 And when he comes, he will bring to the world evidence of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment:

  • The Holy Spirit is another "problem" for the world - he will bring more turmoil into the world
  • will bring evidence of the world's sinfulness, of what righteousness means, and of impending judgment
  • the Holy Spirit will surely not be liked for this either

Jn 16:11 and of the judgment that the ruler of this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." is already convicted."

  • the ruler of this world is Satan. His fate is already decided. Only for some reason the punishment has not yet been carried out

Jn 16:20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, ye shall weep and lament, but the world, will rejoice; you will be grieved, but your grief will be turned into joy.

  • Jesus' killing was a cause for the world to celebrate - the great "troublemaker" was removed. No longer will anyone trouble people's consciences, no longer will anyone "shine a flashlight on a thief." Everything will work again as before in the peaceful coexistence of the devil and men.
  • for those who believed in Jesus, his death was, on the contrary, a complete disappointment, a catastrophe
  • but all in good time - Jesus did not stay in the tomb. His resurrection reversed the "game"

Jn 16:28 I went out from the Father and came to the world,; again I am leaving the world and going to the Father.

  • Jesus' mission on the planet was time-limited

Jn 16:33 These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In world you have tribulation. But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world,."

  • in the world, perfect peace is impossible, in Jesus it is possible
  • the world is not much of a place, tribulation is unavoidable here. But for Christians, it is neither decisive nor definitive.

Jn 17:6 "I have revealed your name to the people you gave me from in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.". They were yours, and you gave them to me, and they kept your word.

  • in the world, God "chose" people who then responded to Jesus' message and believed. They gave their lives to Him
  • are now Jesus'
  • Father, I want to introduce you to my friends I met during my mission on planet Earth.

Jn 17:9 I pray for them; I do not pray for the world, but for the ones you gave me because they are yours.

  • the world can't be helped, it will end badly. But before it ends, I'd like you to bring home to us those who have joined their lives with me

Jn 17:11 And I am no longer in worldbut they're in worldand I'm coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name which you have given me, that they may be one as we are one.

  • After the resurrection, Jesus no longer belonged to the world, in fact, not even before - he was an alien. So were those who believed in him.
  • but they still had to stay for a while - Jesus asks the Father to let them "get through" the interim period, to stay in the faith and not to quarrel

Jn 17:14 I have given them thy word, and the world, against them because they are not of in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world."like I'm not from in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.". 15 I do not ask you to take them from in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world."but to keep them from evil.

  • Jesus prays to the Father: My followers have believed my words. They do not belong here anymore, that is why they, like me, are not popular.
  • I understand that they have to stay here for a while, that they can't leave with me.
  • so they're gonna need your support to make it here.

Jn 17:18 Just as you sent me to the world, and I sent them to the world,.

  • one of the reasons they have to stay here after I leave is because they still have a mission. Just like I had a mission, they have a mission now.

Jn 17:21 that they all may be one, as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us, that the world, he believed you sent me.

  • one of the proofs that Jesus was God's messenger and Son is that Christians are new creatures united to God and to each other

Jn 17:23 I in them, and you in me, that they may be brought into perfect unity, and that the world, to know that you sent me and that you love them as you love me.

  • the purpose of the establishment of the Church, the existence of Christians on earth is, that the world may know that Christ is the Messiah sent by God. The reason God sent Him is because of His love for people

Jn 17:24 Father, I want those whom you have given me to be with me where I am, so that they may see my glory, which you have given me, because you loved me before the foundation in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.".

  • The Triune Creator God existed long before creation. This is logical

Jn 18:20 Jesus answered him, "I have spoken to to the world publicly; I always taught in the synagogue and in the temple, where all the Jews meet, and I said nothing in secret.

  • Jesus' mission on this planet was more than one. One of them was to bring to speak to the world, to bring God's information into the world
  • and I've always done it publicly, it's never been a secret teaching

Jn 18:36 Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world."; if my kingdom were of this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world."my guards would fight that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but my kingdom is not from here."

  • I came to set up a kingdom, but not the kingdom of this world. My kingdom is established differently

Jn 18:37 Pilate said to him: "Are you then a king?" Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. I was born for this reason, and for this reason I came to the world,to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice."

  • I have come to inform the world of the truth.

Rom 1:8 First of all, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, that the message of your faith has spread throughout the whole world.

  • this is the natural use of the term world as we use it today

Rom 1:20 For his eternal power and divinity, though invisible, are from the creation in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." clearly visible when people think about his work, so they are without excuse.

  • From the beginning of the world, the perfection of creation has made it plain to anyone who is not blinded that there must be a mighty God behind creation.

Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man he entered into in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." sin, and through sin death, so also death spread to all men, because all sinned.

  • this is the anamnesis of our world, the world we live in. That's how it all began - with Adam and Eve in paradise. It's a bit mysterious, but it's undeniable. There is no better explanation for our situation

Rom 5:13 Until the law sin was in worldbut it doesn't count when there is no Law.

1 Cor 1:20 Where is the wise? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the speaker of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." insanity?

  • in the world, compared to the kingdom of God, the criteria of wisdom are set quite differently

1 Cor 1:21 For when the world, in the wisdom of God, not knowing God through his wisdom, it pleased God through the foolishness of this message to save those who believe.

  • When the world failed utterly in recognizing the true wisdom of God, God chose a paradoxical, worldly foolish way to save people

1 Cor 1:27 But what is in in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." foolish, God has chosen to shame the wise, and what is in in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." the weak, God hath chosen to confound the strong;28 and what is in in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." the unborn and the inferior, God chose that, chose even what is not, to abolish what is,

  • it is the paradoxical approach that God took after conventional approaches had failed. By conventional practices, I mean: people reflect on the world, conclude that God created it, and "behave" accordingly.

1 Cor 2:12 And we have not received the spirit in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world."but the Spirit which is of God, that we may know what God has given us.

  • the world has a spirit. What kind of spirit? Obviously there is no worldly equivalent of the Holy Spirit, so it must be a kind of figurative expression - a way of thinking according to how the people of the world and also the devil (because he is the ruler of this world) look at it

1 Cor 3:19 For the wisdom of this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." is foolishness before God. For it is written, 'He taketh the wise in their wisdom.'

  • Here wisdom and foolishness are used in "reverse" from the first chapter of Corinthians. The world did not accept God's wisdom, so God chose to act in a different paradoxical way regarding salvation. Here, on the other hand, God looks at the world and what He considers wisdom - and He sees it very negatively as well.
  • I would venture to say that the wisdom of this world is often "gobbledygook"-I am reminded of this sometimes when I read some philosophical treatises full of foreign words or the would-be profound musings of some theologians

1 Cor 4:9 It seems to me that God has set us apostles as the last, as those who are condemned to death, because we have become a spectacle to the world...angels and men.

  • what we as Christians (the apostles as the first and very significant generation in particular) "perform" here on earth is widely observed. By the spirit world, i.e. angels, to be sure, by humans to be sure. But what is meant here by the world? What else is left outside the spirit world and the people? Obviously the world in the sense of all fallen creation, all living creatures. Creation is fallen, given over to death, to extinction, under the dominion of the devil. No wonder he's looking for something better. Their future depends on how Christians manage their role
  • The theatre is also a place designed to entertain, to experience tension. For those who are not directly involved (who is?), watching the lives of Christians must be quite a cultural experience.

1 Cor 4:13 when we are reviled, we rebuke. We have become like the trash of this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world."...pariahs for everyone until now.

  • the rubbish of the world, outcasts - Paul speaks of himself as one of the apostles. So the apostles are very, very unacknowledged, even despised, in the world. Nobody deals with the trash, the outcasts are those who are cast out of human society

1 Cor 5:10 But I do not mean generally with fornicators of this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." or with the greedy, the robbers and the idolaters, for you would have to leave this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." come out. 11 But I meant that you should not associate with one who calls himself a brother, but is a fornicator, or a covetous man, or an idolater, or a talebearer, or a drunkard, or a robber; neither eat with such a one.

  • the world is what it is. We were left in it. It's not our job to "fix the world", it does its own thing. But we are responsible for what happens in the choirs.4

1 Cor 6:2 Know ye not that the saints shall judge the world,? And if you judge the world, you're not fit to judge trifles?

  • Christians will one day (perhaps in the Millennium) be the ones deciding things - it will certainly require wisdom, experience, good character. Paul logically expects these qualities from Christians now

1 Cor 7:31 and those who use this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world."as if they did not use it; for the manner of this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." is passing away.

  • it is not wise to set your heart too much on the things of this world, to dwell too much on them, to fix too much on them. For they are neither durable nor lasting. Yes, we do deal with this world as we must, and often we cannot do otherwise. But it is not essential to us, the things of this world are not the purpose of our lives.

,

1 Cor 7:33 but he who marries cares for things mundanehow he would please his wife, 34 and is divided. The unmarried woman and virgin cares for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy in body and spirit. But when she marries, she cares for the things mundanehow she would please her husband.

  • it is difficult for married people to enjoy the things of this world "as if they did not"... It is not just that the wife may not have an understanding of spiritual things. Even if the wife is a Christian and has an understanding of spiritual things, it is still true that a man with a family has more to worry about and more things to take care of.
  • and the fact that a man trying to please a womanis also beyond doubt. Although Christians want to please God above all, the motivation to win the approval and admiration of women remains strong
  • this also applies reciprocally to married women

1 Cor. 11:32 But when we are judged of the Lord, we are taught that we should not be condemned with the world.

  • the world will not end well. We don't belong to the world anymore, but that doesn't mean that we don't occasionally have a problem with it, when we follow or imitate the world in something
  • when something like this happens, it is good for us when the Father warns and corrects us as part of His discipline

2 Cor 1:12 For this is our glory: the testimony of our conscience, that we have taken upon world - and especially among you, in simplicity and in the sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God.

  • it is "good" to have a clear conscience - not in the sense of self-perfection, but in the sense of openness, directness, and reliance on God's grace.

2 Cor 5:19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world, with himself, and counted not men's trespasses against them, and hath put the word of reconciliation within us.

  • God in Christ has reconciled the world to himself

2 Cor 7:10 Sorrow that is according to God worketh repentance to salvation, which cannot be repented of: whereas grief in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." causes death.

  • when God convicts people of sin, it's not a happy thing. But it is helpful - because it has a way out. It leads to a solution to our problem.
  • Sadness or depression without God offers no way out. It leads to death

Ga 4:3 In the same way, when we were minors, we were in bondage to the elements in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.".

  • the world and its inhabitants are ruled by the elements

Ga 6:14 Let it not be that I glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, whereby he is for me. the world, crucified and I for the world,.

  • For the born-again Christian, the world "no longer exists." Just like for a corpse. The corpse is dead to the world, and the world is dead to the corpse.

Eph 1:4 He chose us in him before the foundation in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world."that we may be holy and blameless before him in love,

  • the mystery of God's foreknowledge, His work with time: the world had not yet been created and He already knew that we would live and that He would choose us for Himself

Eph 2:2 in whom you once lived according to the age of this in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world."according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the sons of disobedience.

  • we used to live like all other people here in the world - according to the orders of the world and its ruler the devil

Eph 2:12 that at that time you were without Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, without partaking of the covenants of promise, without hope and without God in world.

  • a perfect description of the hopelessness for people living here in a world without God. The Jews have "at least something," the Abrahamic covenants apply to them historically. But we Gentiles, we had nothing, nothing at all. And no hope that things could ever get better

Eph 6:12 For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against to world leaders of this darkness, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly realms.

  • we are not fighting against people, but against the spiritual evil forces behind people. Against the devil and the demons that rule the world

Phil 2:15 that you may be blameless and guileless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, wherein you shine as lights in the world.

  • the world is a dark place. Christians are positive anomalies in it

Ko 1:6 which has come to you. And as in the whole world bears fruit and grows, so it has been among you since the day you heard them and knew the grace of God in truth

  • the gospel is spoken of - scattered to the world doing its work

Co 2:8 Beware lest anyone take you captive through philosophy - empty seduction according to human tradition, according to the elements in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world."and not according to Christ.

  • philosophy is a worldly seduction and vanity

Co 2:20 If you have died with Christ to the elements. in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world."why are you prescribing like you're living in world:

  • the world doesn't concern us Christians much. There is no reason to participate in its pseudo-problems

1 Tim 1:9 and is aware that the law is not given for the righteous, but for unrighteous and rebellious, ungodly and sinful, for unholy and mundane...for patricide and matricide, for murderers in general,

  • The law keeps in check the worst excesses of human evil, the evil of this world

1 Tim 1:15 This is a trustworthy saying, and deserving of full acceptance: that Christ Jesus came to the world,to save sinners. I am the first of them,

  • that was His mission. It concerned everyone. Paul and every one of us.

1 Tim 6:7 For we have nothing to the world, and it's clear that we can't take anything away from it either.

  • You're shrouding your pockets. Could anything be clearer?

1 Tim 6:20 O Timothy, keep what has been entrusted to you; avoid by secular empty talk and contradictory claims of what is falsely called 'knowledge',

  • idle talk is a favorite pastime of the people of the world. But nothing for Christians

2 Tim 4:10 For Demas has forsaken me, having loved this one more the world, and went to Thessalonica, Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.

  • Demas had to choose between serving Paul (with Paul) and something else. Paul frames the conflict as a conflict between love for God and love for the world

Titus 2:12 and teaches us to renounce ungodliness and mundane desires, and lived prudently, righteously, and godly in this age,

  • most of the desires of the body and soul are worldly. We live here, but prudently, righteously and godly, not as it is customary to live in the world

  • Noah condemned the world by showing that faith and obedience are possible

Heb 11:38 Those whose the world, was not worthy, they wandered in the wastes, mountains, caves and ravines of the earth.

  • the world is driven to destruction by lust. The ship is sinking. Salvation exists.

1 Jn 2:15 Do not love the world, nor what's in world. If someone loves the world, the Father's love is not in him. 16 For all that is in world - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the empty boast of life - not of the Father, but of in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.".

  • a Christian cannot love the world. If someone is attracted to the world, there is something wrong with it.
  • another very radical statement about our relationship to the world. Along with James 4:4, the most radical and clear (the Zebedee brothers were clearly clear about the world) - the things of the world have nothing to do with God, and the relationship to the world and to God are mutually exclusive

1 JOHN 2:17 A the world, passes away even his desire; but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever

  • the world is ephemeral. Including the most attractive things it has to offer

1 John 3:1 Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the children of God: and so we are. Therefore we are the world, he doesn't know, because he didn't know him.

1 Jn 4:3 And no spirit that confesseth not Jesus Christ, who is come in the flesh, is of God. This is the spirit of Antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and which is already in world.

  • and not just false prophets, but the very spirit of antichrist

  • understands his own

1 Jn 4:17 In this love has reached its goal with us, that we have full confidence for the day of judgment, for as he is, so are we in this world.

  • we are an anomaly in this world because we are Christ-like

1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world,. And that is the victory that overcame the world,: our faith. 5 Who is the one who overcomes the world,if not the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

  • Christians by their faith are able to defeat the world

1 John 5:19 We know that we are of God, and the whole the world, lies in the Evil One.

  • strong formulation with absolute quantifier. There's nothing in the world that doesn't lie in the wrong
